I thought about some things going on in my life, a lot of the bad lately seems to outweigh the good at times.
So I decided to put it in another perspective:

I wanted to complain about how cold it was outside, but then remembered how I have a warm house to be in, with clothing, shoes, blankets, a bed... while some walk in the dark cold at night, hoping for shelter from the elements.

I could also complain that my house is too small, that we just don't have enough room.  While some don't even have a place to rest their head.

I could complain about not being pretty enough, that I wish  my hair was longer, my waist was thinner; while some spend their lives battling illnesses and disabilities.

I could complain about how age is taking a toll, the wrinkles, the changes; while many don't have the fortune to live as long as I have.

I should complain that I don't make enough money.  I work so hard!  But there are people that struggle to find any work at all, and wondering if they will eat tomorrow.

I sometimes wish for having the latest advancements in technology, all the cool gadgets that everyone else seems to have.. Maybe even a fancy car.  While some children don't even have a toy to play with, and grow up too fast not having the enjoyment a child should experience in their youth.

I wonder why I have sicknesses when I've done my best in taking care of myself.  I rarely drink alcohol, I never do drugs or smoke, I try to stay fit and eat right;  I struggle with this issue the most, because I've tried so hard to remain healthy!  Yet there are people who will never see the age I am now, and those that have, suffered and lost much more greatly than I can ever fathom.

I wonder why with all my talents, I haven't been recognized in a larger way.  In the past and or now, no matter all my efforts.. and will it ever come?  While I still may feel somewhat to this degree, I realize that my gifts are not merely for myself, but for others as well.  For there is no point in having said gifts, if you can't share them, help others, and give them away.  Isn't that already success?

We all have endured adversities in our life. There is no one exempt of this.  It doesn't matter who we are, where we're from.  It's how you define success, how you define your own happiness... that separates you from your "problems" in life.  Your adversities, no matter how great or small, do not define you as a person.  How you react to those issues, how you cope with them, that is what defines you.  The good you do for the World, for all Life...... that also defines you.

So make good, do good and be good.  Count your blessings.  There is always someone who has less.

Be the Change

In your life, you'll find so many changes.
But they truly aren't changes so much as it is a progressive pattern within.
People don't change, they unfold.  This is often known as "true colors".
Circumstances can't change without your effort, or your breaking of a pattern.
You are responsible for every foot step you make, every decision, every reaction to what happens to you.
You are responsible for your own peace, your own happiness, and the love you receive by what you give.
None of these things are attainable without your commitment in delivering those to other people and yourself.
If you want those things, you have to BE those things, and ACT on those things.
Nothing else will ever change for the better for you, and you certainly will NEVER find it,  if you don't.

LOVE

There were times in my life when I faced adversity and I couldn't imagine how I was going to endure. I often believed that in certain circumstances that love was not enough & that there has to be more. But I was wrong.  The things I believed, were completely incorrect. 

When you are experiencing difficult times or you're experiencing beautiful times, you need love in order to appreciate and respect both.  Love can't be measured by anything - it doesn't have a price tag. It can't be bought or sold or compared to.  Things will come and go, problems will come and go - beautiful experiences will also exit your life , but the one thing that remains, regardless of what happens to you and in your life experiences and the one thing you leave behind when you're gone, is the love you gave, and the love you received. 

There are so many people that will be hurting today. They are not  fortunate like so many others. Surely they'd wish that they can bring  back their loved ones because there is nothing more important than the love that they have for them.  How blessed are we to have the opportunity...

Be grateful for the things you have. The people who are special in your life. Do not squander and do take risks when it comes to love. Never allow pride to stand in your way.  Be brave, pour your heart out - You don't know what tomorrow brings so appreciate every moment and respect it. 

And...Always say thank you, tell the people you miss that you miss them, always say I love you & show it-and always deliver hugs to the people that you love  more than anything in the world. Love is all you really need.  And love is what you should project. Peace. ~Hyde

The Healing Sea

Gentlemen

For all the real men that still open the door for a lady, that pause in their auto to let her cross the street, that pull & push her chair out, that offer her a jacket when she's cold, that walk around the door of a car to open it, that hold her hand & walk beside her- maybe slightly behind- but never in front, that stop their vehicle to let her drive first, even if it was his right-of-way; that allow her to go in front of them on a grocery line even if his hands are full- and many other gentlemen-like behaviors - THANK YOU - thank you, really, I mean that. Because it may be quite rare these days, I found, however, chivalry is not entirely dead, and when it is/was witnessed & delivered to me, I am truly grateful. Those of you that behave this way, please keep that up, because some of us do not take it for granted. As a woman, I needed to express that. Thank you.

Technology vs Life

I recall the days when I would audition daily in the city, (For those of you that don't know what that means, it translates as Manhattan); And I would see the strange devices among only select people; These brick-sized cell phones; And wonder why people need to constantly stay connected - Why they couldn't break away for an hour, two hours, even five hours. It was so odd to see & it's so "normal" to witness now. 

The world has gotten so much entirely crazy since then - that was the 90s- With the Internet and texting & such- I often see people at a dinner table not even spending quality time with their significant other, their friend or their family;  their Kids--Reaching down looking at their cell phones like a doctor or rescue worker on call; while the other person attempts to tell the story of their day... What has become of us? What example are we for our children?  Whom, by the way, have their own iPhones... 

Let's throw some good intention out there, To make time and space not only for other people but for ourselves. To not only respect company, But to give ourselves the freedom to enjoy life fully and not be trapped by the walls of technology.  To not see life on the computer screen, but to experience it. To tell our children and our grandchildren the things that we did and experience it with them as well. And not just read about other people's explorations.

 I am also grateful for technology for the things that are brought together; Old and new friendships; Exposure to my art & music; The ability to speak to people I never thought I would ever meet whom I've admired, To share my photography and so on, you get the idea. But a line must be drawn, Metaphorically.  

People it's time to live life again.  Facebook and all these other things are not your lifeline, are not your oxygen. Every day you wake up is a blessing and a chance for new things.  Take the time to experience and love your life. Squander nothing.  And appreciate everything, be grateful.

Stop!

Please, focus on the GOOD in your life, not the bad.  Everyone has bad.  That's too simple!  It's easy to focus on what we don't have, what we can't have, what we are not, what we wish for. It drains you & it drains everyone around you.  If we can just appreciate what IS and what we DO have, THAT's what makes you strong. That's what brings MORE good.  Recognizing the best in the least, the greatest in the worst, it brings more joy in your life.  Every thing you put out is mirrored back to you. You get what you give.  Breathe deep........ pause, live - don't just exist; explore, dance, sing, laugh!  And always smile.  Life is just too darn short for anything else. ~h

Be original, one-of-a-kind, create from deep inside your heart & mind, not only from your eyes & ears. Be inspired, but be you and no one else. Those who do will be recognized, respected & remembered. Imitations are easily forgotten.

Most great Artists suffer(ed) despite their amazing gift(s). Great Artists ahead of their time often were recognized later in life or when they were gone. They did not choose Art because it brought them power or money. They chose it because it was their love, their soul and who they were born to be. They chose nothing, Art chose them.
